Michaeel Eh?

One messed up premise with equally messed up animation.

Remember Newgrounds? Were you alive and on the internet in 2002?

Remember a time before Apple killed Adobe Flash?

It's BACK, baby!

Clean lines, decently competent art and characters. But the animation is a throwback to amateur flash cartoons from the turn of the century; very basic, and without any real concession to perspective when moving into and out of a scene. The face of the protagonist reminds me for all the world of the Captin of Section 2 in Patlabor, it's uncanny. The first episode is one that rewards paying attention, as all the circumstances are provided for to account for the main character surviving an execution by hanging. The episode is a great lesson in that "highly improbable", does not mean "impossible". If I have one real complaint about the animation, it's that the eyes (more specifically the pupils) of speakers and listeners don't point towards each other often enough. It's a small thing, but it would make a world of difference if it were more consistent. The writing is at least competently done, though there's a lot of exposition.

The animation style is strange, seeming very primitive. The plot spent a lot of time on exposition dialog in the middle, which I thought was fairly dull. We dont really get to know much of the characters or the setting. All in all, it seemed fairly amateurish to me. It might be good for some laughs, but I wasnt all that entertained.
